Agartala, July 10 -- The Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has recommended filing an FIR and providing compensation of Rs 10,000 to a woman who was defrauded of Rs 97,631 in a cyber scam.
THRC stated that the police's inaction in response to the woman's complaint was a violation of her human rights. This recommendation came after a complaint from Surabhi Mukherjee, who fell victim to fraudsters impersonating officials from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and convinced her to transfer the money via UPI.
