Imphal, June 9 -- Thousands of people took to the streets here today demanding the updation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the next census exercise is carried out in the state jointly organised by 14 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Kangleipak .
The participants congregated at Tiddim Ground in Imphal West and marched to THAU Ground, covering nearly five kilometres through the city. Security personnel were deployed along the route to maintain law and order during the event. A public meeting was held at THAU Ground upon the conclusion of the march.
