Pune, March 19 -- The 337th death anniversary of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is being observed on Thursday with enthusiasm in Shirur taluka of Pune district. Large-scale commemorative events have been organized at Vadhu Budruk and Tulapur villages to mark the occasion.
Since early morning, thousands of devotees from across Maharashtra, including Shivbhakts and Shambhu followers, have been arriving at these historic sites. Devotees observe a 40-day-long 'Balidan Maas' (month of sacrifice) leading up to this day. During this period, they give up their favourite comforts, abstain from non-vegetarian food, and refrain from participating in cultural programmes.
