Srinagar, April 10 -- Veteran politician and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Friday expressed hope that the ceasefire in the Middle East would pave the way for lasting peace, while taking a swipe at calls to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Pakistan's leadership.
"Thank God the war has stopped. I hope it remains stopped in the future as well, peace prevails in the world, and we all benefit from it," Abdullah told reporters in Srinagar.
