Nagpur, March 17 -- As many as 33 companies allotted land in the MIHAN project have not commenced work, with the Development Commissionerate now planning action against the defaulters, including issuing notices, sources said.

Official sources said a review conducted in November 2025 found that 24 companies in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and 9 in the Non-SEZ area have been holding plots for a long time without initiating any development activity.

Authorities are likely to convene a meeting shortly, during which these firms may be asked to either begin work on their projects immediately or surrender the allotted land, sources added.
