Ranchi, April 22 -- The Indian Army on Wednesday defused a third unexploded bomb recovered from the banks of the Subarnarekha river in Ghatshila subdivision of East Singhbhum district, officials said.
The operation was conducted near Panipoda village under Baharagora police station limits, where three suspected World War-era bombs had been found in recent weeks.
Officials said the device was neutralised through a controlled detonation after securing the area. No casualties or property damage were reported.
A police officer said a one-kilometre radius was cordoned off and residents were moved to safer locations as a precautionary measure. Movement in the area remained restricted during the operation.
