Mumbai, June 22 -- Thane District General Government Hospital has achieved a significant milestone by successfully performing 34 paediatric surgeries in a single day under the National Child Health Programme (RBSK), providing specialised treatment free of cost to children suffering from congenital and serious medical conditions.
The initiative benefited children from economically weaker families in Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts, many of whom required surgeries that would otherwise have cost lakhs of rupees in private hospitals, civil hospital officials said on Monday.
