Mumbai, Sept. 10 -- Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray today met his cousin, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray, at the latter's 'Shivtirth' residence in Dadar West, fuelling speculation about a potential alliance for the forthcoming local body elections.

The meeting came a day after a Congress delegation met with Uddhav Thackeray to discuss the possibility of the Raj Thackeray-led MNS joining the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.

Sources said the main part of today's two-and-a-half-hour discussion was whether the MNS would be part of the MVA opposition alliance. A potential public reunion for the two cousins at a Dussehra gathering on October 2 was also discussed.
