Hyderabad, Feb. 13 -- In a major push towards clean and sustainable mobility, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has decided to expand the use of environmentally friendly electric buses to reduce air pollution and improve public health in Hyderabad.
As part of this initiative, TGSRTC has begun adopting "retrofitment" technology to convert existing diesel buses into electric vehicles.
The tender for retrofitment was floated on September 15, 2025, and finalised on September 30, with the work for 40 buses entrusted to Sayathree Mobility and Kalyani Power Stein Limited.
