Hyderabad, Aug. 27 -- The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate 5,000 special buses from August 27 to 31 to meet the anticipated passenger rush during Rakhi Purnima, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said on Thursday.
In a statement, the Minister said passenger traffic was expected to increase due to the festive holidays and the return rush would continue from the afternoon of August 30 through August 31. The number of special buses has been increased from 4,760 last year to 5,000 this year.
He said around 3.68 crore passengers travelled in special buses during Rakhi Purnima last year, including 2.51 crore women. Officials have been instructed to deploy additional buses wherever necessary and continuously moni...
