Hyderabad, June 21 -- A major tragedy was averted after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) electric bus carrying around 41 passengers caught fire on the outskirts of Alugunur near Thimmapur in Karimnagar district on Sunday.
The Telangana RTC electric bus was travelling from Karimnagar to Hyderabad when flames suddenly erupted from the vehicle. Alerted by the situation, the driver and conductor immediately stopped the bus and safely evacuated all passengers.
Fire personnel rushed to the spot after being informed by the driver and local residents and brought the blaze under control. However, by the time the fire was extinguished, the bus had been completely gutted.
