Hyderabad, Aug. 25 -- The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has seized 15 tonnes of food articles worth Rs 30 lakh and lifted 35 samples for testing during special inspections of sweet and savoury manufacturing and retail units in the Core Urban Region (CURE).
As many as 15 enforcement teams comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel inspected 32 retail and manufacturing units and found violations including poor hygiene, expired food articles, improper handling and storage, fungal-infested vegetables, labelling and packaging violations, misleading claims and pest and rodent infestation.
