Washington, Oct. 3 -- Social media accounts linked to the Omani pilot accused of attacking another pilot aboard a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv contained images of al Qaeda figures and material that investigators are examining for possible extremist links, according to media reports.
The pilot, identified as Hamam al-Hammami, is accused of attacking his colleague with a crash axe and attempting to take control of the aircraft during Wednesday's flight.
The plane was diverted to Saudi Arabia, where the suspect was detained, according to authorities.
