Bengaluru, June 25 -- An alleged plot to attack the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was thwarted with the arrest of a 20-year-old Uttar Pradesh youth in Karnataka's Davangere district, police said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Suhail, a native of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Harihar, where he had reportedly been working in a factory for the past 15 days. Investigators claim the suspect had discussed plans to target the Ayodhya temple and that incriminating material recovered from his mobile phone is being examined.
According to police, photographs showing the accused holding weapons, contacts linked to Pakistani phone numbers and audio clips allegedly referring to an attack on the Ram Mandir were found on his device. O...
