Hyderabad, July 18 -- Tension gripped Bahadurguda village in Shamshabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district on Saturday after a scuffle broke out between protesting farmers and the police over the proposed bullet train project's land acquisition.

The clash erupted when officials, assisted by HYDRA personnel, began fencing the disputed land with the help of JCBs despite an ongoing relay hunger strike by farmers, triggering a massive protest and heavy police deployment.

The farmers alleged that their agricultural land was being forcibly acquired for the proposed bullet train project. As the fencing work began, a large number of villagers gathered at the site, raising slogans against the acquisition and demanding that their land be returned.
