Tension erupts outside the Mansa SDM office during the poll process

Chandigarh, May 18 -- Tension prevailed outside the SDM office in Punjab's Mansa during the municipal council election process after supporters of opposition parties staged a protest alleging interference in nomination proceedings.

The controversy erupted after independent candidate Arpit Chaudhary accused AAP MLA Dr Vijay Singla of attempting to get his nomination papers rejected ahead of the municipal council elections.

Following the allegations, candidates and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal gathered outside the SDM office and raised slogans against the ruling government.
