Hyderabad, Sept. 7 -- Tension prevailed at the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday when BRS MLAs and MLCs wearing T-shirts carrying slogans against the Congress government were stopped by police from entering the premises.
BRS MLA and former minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy reportedly sustained a minor injury during the incident. Women legislators objected to the police action, leading to heated arguments between BRS members and police personnel.
BRS MLA T Harish Rao and some other legislators removed their shirts and sought permission to enter the Assembly wearing only banians. As the situation escalated, police took several BRS legislators into custody and shifted them from the spot.
