London, June 29 -- Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2026 on the eve of the opening round.
The Brit has been managing a recurring right leg injury since the end of the tennis clay court season. A scan on Sunday revealed a stress fracture in her lower right leg.
"I've done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow, but after a final scan tonight, the niggle I've been managing has developed into a stress fracture," Raducanu posted on Instagram.
"I've been medically advised to stop pushing through." Hopes had been high for the British women's No. 1 ahead of her home major.
The 23-year-old looked to be back in fine form with a run to the Queen's Club final in London this month, according to olympics.com.
