New Delhi, March 1 -- Bright sunshine and rising heat kept Delhi's temperatures above normal on Sunday, with several parts of the city recording maximum temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (degC), according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 30.7degC, while Ridge and Ayanagar logged 31.2degC and 31.4degC, respectively, nearly 4-5degC above normal for this time of the year.

Weather experts have forecast a further rise in temperatures over the coming week, with the city's maximum temperature likely to touch 35degC from Wednesday onwards.
