Hyderabad, March 31 -- Telangana Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Tuesday accused the Andhra Pradesh government of violating norms by generating power at the Srisailam reservoir despite water levels nearing the Minimum Draw Down Level (MDDL).
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here, he said Andhra Pradesh government continued power generation despite clear rules mandating a stop once water levels reached 834 feet (254.2 meters), disregarding Telangana's irrigation and drinking water needs and drawing water "illegally and unjustly."Krishna Rao said repeated appeals by Telangana went unheeded, prompting public representatives from the undivided Mahabubnagar district to call for a protest demonstration (Vantavarpu) at Srisailam.
