Hyderabad, April 28 -- Telangana has emerged as the top-performing state in the country in recovering stolen and missing mobile phones, with a total of 1,24,850 devices traced and restored to users.

According to Charu Sinha, DG, CID , the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, developed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to curb mobile theft and counterfeit devices, is being implemented across all 780 police stations in the state, with CID Telangana acting as the nodal agency.
