Hyderabad, May 27 -- Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Wednesday announced that the State Government would soon launch the first phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme in Hyderabad with a target of constructing one lakh houses for the urban poor.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Ponguleti said over one lakh houses had already been completed across the state under the Rs 22,500-crore Indiramma Housing programme, while another one lakh houses would be completed by the end of June.

The Minister said only 18,000 houses were initially sanctioned within GHMC limits due to a shortage of land, but the government had now identified near...
