Hyderabad, April 10 -- Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy on Friday said the state government will soon issue health cards to all surrendered Maoists, with no cap on treatment expenditure, as part of its rehabilitation measures.

Speaking to reporters after the surrender of 42 underground Maoist cadres before Telangana Police, the DGP said the government would issue a Government Order in the next few days formalising the health card scheme.

He said the benefit would be extended to all Maoist cadres who surrendered in Telangana between 2024 and 2026, irrespective of their native place, in line with an earlier assurance given by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
