Hyderabad, June 9 -- : Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said Telangana had created a record in paddy procurement by purchasing over 75 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy during the current Yasangi season, despite the Centre fixing a target of only 52 LMT for the State.
Addressing a press conference at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat along with Ministers Adluri Lakshman and Vakiti Srihari, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana alone accounted for over 61 percent of India's total Yasangi paddy procurement.
