Hyderabad, April 5 -- Telangana SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar today said the state government is moving forward on the path of equality, justice and self-respect inspired by the ideals of Jagjivan Ram while reaffirming the Congress party's commitment to Dalit dignity.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 119th birth anniversary of Jagjivan Ram here, Laxman said the celebrations should serve as a resolve to strengthen the Dalit self-respect movement rather than remain a mere ritual.
He said the state government's decision to celebrate the occasion on a grand scale reflects its commitment towards Dalits, the poor and marginalised sections.
