Hyderabad, Aug. 20 -- A delegation of the Telangana State NRI Advisory Committee on Thursday visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Manila, Philippines, and held discussions with officials on migrant worker welfare and support mechanisms.
Philippine officials made a presentation on the country's welfare programmes and best practices for overseas workers, explaining its approach to protecting and supporting migrant workers.
The delegation, led by Committee Chairman Dr B.M. Vinod Kumar, State Government Whip Adi Srinivas and Nizamabad Rural MLA Dr R. Bhupathi Reddy, discussed ways to adapt the Philippines' migrant worker model to benefit Telangana workers, particularly those employed in Gulf countries.
