Hyderabad, May 28 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said the state government is taking major steps to promote eco-friendly energy resources and transform the state into a Green Energy Hub.
During a visit to Bonakal mandal in Khammam district, the Deputy CM inaugurated rooftop solar systems under the Model Solar Village initiative and launched solar-powered agricultural pump sets in farmers' fields.
He said Bonakal and Kodangal mandals are being developed as fully solarised mandals under a pilot project.
Bhatti Vikramarka said rooftop solar panels would help reduce electricity bills while generating additional monthly income for households.
