Hyderabad, May 21 -- Telangana Media Academy (TMA) Chairman K Srinivas Reddy on Thursday announced that financial assistance had been sanctioned to 21 beneficiaries under the Journalists' Welfare Fund.
The decision was taken during the fifth meeting of the Journalists' Welfare Fund Committee held at the Telangana Media Academy office in Nampally.
The committee reviewed 29 applications and approved financial assistance for the families of 17 deceased journalists, besides extending aid to four working journalists suffering from serious illnesses or severe accidents.
Srinivas Reddy said the families of the deceased journalists would receive financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each, along with a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for five years. He a...
