Hyderabad, June 17 -- Telangana Media Academy (TMA) Chairman K Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said the state government is committed to the welfare of journalists and their families.

Addressing a cheque distribution programme held at the Telangana Media Academy auditorium in Nampally, he handed over financial assistance to 21 beneficiaries under the Journalists' Welfare Fund scheme. The beneficiaries included family members of 17 deceased journalists and four journalists suffering from serious illnesses.

Srinivas Reddy said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is giving high priority to journalists' welfare and taking steps to address their concerns.
