Hyderabad, July 24 -- The Telangana Department of Horticulture will organise a one-day training programme on urban farming at the Telangana Horticulture Training Institute (THTI), Red Hills, here on July 26 under the "Mana Illu Mana Kuragayalu" programme.
The programme will be held from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and aims to create awareness on terrace cultivation of quality, pesticide-residue-free vegetables to promote public health and reduce carbon emissions, according to an official notification released here on Friday.
The department said the initiative assumes significance in view of rapid urbanisation, shrinking space for cultivation and rising vegetable prices.
