New Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept. 15 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has urged the union government to allocate and distribute sufficient quantities of urea to farmers in the state at the earliest.
He made the request during a meeting with union Fertilisers and Chemicals Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra in New Delhi today.
The Minister stressed that urea is vital for major crops such as paddy, maize, and cotton, which are now in a crucial stage of cultivation.
"These fifteen days are especially important in the agricultural season. If fertilisers are not available to farmers during this time, the crops will be severely affected. Therefore, we have requested the Centre to ensure a continuous supply of urea," he said.
