Hyderabad, Feb. 1 -- Telangana Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Sunday announced that the State government will provide Rs 1 crore as financial assistance to the family of Excise Constable Soumya, who lost her life after being injured in an attack by a ganja smuggling gang in Nizamabad.
Speaking to the media, the Minister expressed deep sorrow over Soumya's death while performing her duty and assured that the government would stand firmly by her family. He said one member of Soumya's family would also be provided with a government job as part of the support measures.
