Hyderabad, Aug. 12 -- The Telangana government will launch a scheme to distribute 1.19 lakh automatic sewing machines to poor and unemployed Backward Class (BC) women across the state, with the machines being provided under 100 per cent government subsidy.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar will formally launch the scheme at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat here on Thursday, August 13, at noon.
Under the scheme, 1,000 automatic sewing machines will be distributed in each of the state's 119 Assembly constituencies, benefiting a total of 1,19,000 BC women.
