Hyderabad, Sept. 11 -- Telangana Labour, Employment and Training Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy on Friday said the State government was modernising Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and skill development programmes to equip youth with industry-ready skills and create employment opportunities in India and abroad.

Participating in a short discussion on education in the Assembly, Vivek said Rs 2,500 crore was being invested in partnership with Tata to modernise ITIs and transform them into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs).

He said the new curriculum developed for the ATCs had received appreciation from the union Skill Development Minister and other State Labour Ministers.
