Hyderabad, Sept. 6 -- In the wake of rising demand for fertilisers during the monsoon season, Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has directed officials to set up additional urea sale counters at farmers' forums across the state.

The move comes as part of the government's efforts to ensure easy and timely availability of fertilisers to farmers.

The Minister said the token system, piloted in some areas, has yielded positive results. Under this system, farmers will be issued tokens one day in advance based on their passbooks, enabling them to collect fertilisers smoothly from designated counters.
