New Delhi/Hyderabad, May 20 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Wednesday met union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and sought additional financial assistance for the state's development, major investments in education, and infrastructure expansion.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister submitted memorandums requesting an additional Rs 5,000 crore under the "Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI)" and exemption from FRBM limits for major education sector projects being implemented by the Telangana government.
