Hyderabad, Oct. 2 -- The Telangana government has revised auto-rickshaw fares after 12 years, recognising the sector as an important component of the public transport system alongside RTC and Metro services.

The revised fares replace those prescribed under G.O.Ms.No.20, issued by the then undivided Andhra Pradesh government on February 14, 2014.

Under the new structure, the minimum fare for the first 1.6 km is Rs 30, followed by Rs 14 per additional kilometre. The waiting charge has been fixed at Rs 0.75 per minute, while the charge for eligible luggage is Rs 0.50, with a maximum luggage limit of 100 kg. Between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., passengers will be charged 1.5 times the normal fare.
