Hyderabad, Sept. 11 -- The Telangana government on Friday released Rs 179.90 crore towards long-pending overseas scholarship funds, benefiting 3,008 students from SC, ST, BC and Minority communities pursuing higher education abroad.
Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, said the funds were released following the directions of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. He said payments had been completed for all eligible scholarship recipients, providing significant financial relief to students and their families.
Of the total amount, Rs 48.42 crore was released to 1,193 SC students under the Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi scheme, while Rs 36.95 crore was allocated to 573 ST students. Another Rs...
