Hyderabad, Nov. 11 -- The Telangana government has sanctioned immediate relief to families whose houses were damaged in the heavy rains triggered by Cyclone Montha.

Orders have been issued to provide Rs 15,000 each to affected households.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) Arvind Kumar stated that, based on reports submitted by district Collectors, 8,662 houses suffered damage across 15 districts. A total of Rs 12.99 crore has now been released as immediate financial assistance. The amount will be credited directly to the bank accounts of the affected families.
