Hyderabad, Sept. 11 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today said the State government had paid Rs 3,488 crore towards fee reimbursement during its 32-month tenure and asserted that the scheme would be extended only to genuine colleges complying with prescribed regulations.

Participating in a short discussion on education in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said the previous government had left behind fee reimbursement arrears of Rs 5,430 crore. He said Rs 1,410 crore of the outstanding dues had already been cleared and the present government had paid Rs 1,475 crore since assuming office.
