Hyderabad, Nov. 14 -- A new initiative aimed at empowering adolescent girls across Telangana was formally launched on Firday, with Women and Child Welfare Minister Dasari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurating the state's first "friendship groups" at a programme held at Praja Bhavan.
The friendship groups, designed on the lines of women's self-help groups, will bring together girls aged 15 to 18 to build awareness, confidence and life skills. The initiative covers 19.13 lakh adolescent girls across the state.
CERS CEO Divya Devarajan attended the launch event, along with Commission member Gogula Saritha and TG Foods Chairperson Fahim.
