Hyderabad, April 20 -- The 893rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Basaveshwara was celebrated with grandeur at Ravindra Bharathi on Monday, with several dignitaries and leaders participating in the event.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari, Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar, and other prominent leaders attended the celebrations and paid tributes to the 12th-century social reformer.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vakiti Srihari offered his homage to Basaveshwara, describing him as a great personality who propagated values of equality, justice, and brotherhood in society. He highlighted Basaveshwara's principle of "Kayakave Kailasam" (work is worship), emphasising that hard work is the path to greatness.
