Hyderabad, July 22 -- Telangana Revenue, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Wednesday said the state government was committed to fulfilling the dream of home ownership for the poor and had already sanctioned 7.5 lakh houses across the state.

Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, the Minister said the Congress government had begun holding weekly face-to-face interactions with the public, unlike the previous regime, which he alleged had not provided people an opportunity to voice their grievances.

He said owning a house was a matter of dignity and self-respect, adding that the government was making the dream a reality even in Hyderabad, where land prices are extremely high.
