Hyderabad, April 30 -- The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Forest Beat Officer red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Thursday.

The accused official, Banoth Naresh, was working at Nadimigudem and holding additional charge of Sayanapalli in the Gundala Forest Range.

He was allegedly demanding the bribe from a complainant in exchange for not interfering with the cultivation of five acres of assigned Podu land in Venkatpuram revenue village.

According to an ACB statement here, the officer was trapped at his office in Gundala while accepting the bribe, and the tainted amount was recovered from his possession. Authorities stated that the officer had acted dishonestly and mi...
