Hyderabad, March 24 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday expressed concern over the sharp rise in medical invalidation cases in Singareni Collieries, stating that unnecessary cases have imposed a significant financial burden on the public sector undertaking.
Replying to a question raised by Council Member Madhusudhanachari, the Deputy Chief Minister informed the House that 13,119 medical invalidation cases were recorded between 2014 and 2023, compared to only 3,859 cases during the 14 years from 2000 to 2014.
He said investigations by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Vigilance departments are underway into the surge in such cases.
