Khammam, July 9 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said farmers' welfare and agricultural development remain the top priorities of the Congress government, asserting that the State has spent thousands of crores of rupees on irrigation, agriculture, paddy procurement, farm mechanisation and allied sectors to make farming profitable.
Addressing after inaugurating a Mega Rythu Mela along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao at Jagannathapuram in Chinthakani mandal here, Bhatti said the government was demonstrating its commitment to farmers through action rather than rhetoric, with every policy aimed at increasing farmers' income and strengthening the agricultural sector.
