Hyderabad/New Delhi, May 6 -- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday urged union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar to accord approval to the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project.

The Chief Minister also sought the Centre's participation as a joint venture partner in its implementation.

During a meeting held in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy informed the union Minister that the state government had already prepared and submitted a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Metro Phase-II comprising seven corridors.

He said the rapid expansion of Hyderabad city necessitated further strengthening of the metro rail network to meet growing commuter needs.
