Hyderabad, Oct. 21 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to Maoists to abandon violence and join the mainstream of public life.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Police Commemoration Day programme held at Goshamahal on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that terrorism and Maoist activities were once widespread in Telangana, but peace has now prevailed due to the relentless efforts of the police department.

"I appeal to the remaining Maoist leaders who are in hiding to come forward and join the mainstream of public life," Revanth Reddy said.
