Hyderabad, May 4 -- The Telangana State Cabinet has approved key recommendations of the Backward Classes (BC) Commission, including changes to certain caste names considered derogatory and the identification of eligible nomadic communities for Central schemes such as SEED.

Welcoming the decision, BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan said the move would help restore dignity to affected communities and improve access to welfare benefits. Commission members Rapolu Jayaprakash, Tirumalagiri Surender and Balalakshmi Rangu also expressed satisfaction over the Cabinet's decision.
