Hyderabad, Nov. 4 -- At least 19 people died and nearly 24 others injured when an RTC bus proceeding from Tandur to Hyderabad was hit head-on by a gravel-loaded Tipper coming from the opposite direction at high speed at Indirareddy Nagar near Chevella of Rangaredy district today morning.
The Bus was carrying 70 passengrs at the time of the fatal accident, which occurred at around 0615 hours.
Due to the impact, both drivers (bus and tipper) and around 17 passengers died on the spot , police said here.
As per eyewitness accounts and police confirmation, the tipper was travelling at high speed, overtaking several vehicles, and suddenly steered to the right, colliding head-on with the RTC bus coming from the opposite direction.
